Gerry Ryan inducted into Manhattan College Athletic Hall of Fame

This past fall (November 14, 2009), Manhattan College proudly inducted Gerry Ryan a resident of Babylon Village into its Athletic Hall of Fame. Ryan a veteran Irish radio and television personality is no stranger to athletics. Ryan came to the United States from Ireland at the tender age of 17.

While on a full scholarship for Manhattan College's Track and Field Program, Gerry held the record for hammer throwing and weight throwing. With his phenomenal athletic ablilities he continues to rank sixth on the all time Manhattan Hammer List. And along with high rankings, during grad school he displayed the ultimate statue to Jasper pride and coached track and field until his graduation in 1990.
